Year 2 - Dive right in!

Dive right in and find out what we've been learning about in Year 2!

"A long way out in the deep blue sea, there lived"... Rainbow Fish! Having read this book, all of the children have loved beginning to create their own version of the story, sharing their ideas of what they would find in their chosen settings, and how they can describe this. Can you imagine a cactus who didn't want to share his spines? Or a parrot who didn't want to share their feathers?

Some of the children even linked their learning to our geography and science topics about habitats! Having received a letter asking the children to become architects and design a new animal enclosure for the zoo, the children have been exploring the four corners of the globe from the depths of the Amazon Rainforest to the plains of Africa to investigate the characteristics of these habitats and why they are suitable for the animals and plants that thrive there. We can't wait to find out about the different enclosures that will be designed!
