Year 5 - The Final Straw

This half term, Year 5 have been diving deep into plastic pollution in our oceans! The Final Straw Foundation came into school and further highlighted the impact of plastic pollution on our environment, thinking about ways to minimise the amount of plastic entering our local seas and wider oceans.

The children became detectives, exploring the disastrous effect plastic has on our oceans. Sieving through the sand to find plastic collected from local beaches opened the children's eyes to the vast amount of plastic which is discarded every day and finds its way into our oceans.
