Sanctuary Ambassadors:

'Our Home'

Our Sanctuary Ambassadors have been fully absorbed in their work in school this week to create some fantastic artwork to display in Southampton Central Library for Refugee Week, which is culminating in a celebration in the city on Saturday 22nd June, which some of our children will be supporting.

Following a fantastic assembly from Lesley and Elly from Southampton and Winchester Visitors Group (SWVG), highlighting the experiences of refugees who seek sanctuary in Southampton, we explored the theme of 'Our Home' and thought about what it means to us, before creating a plan for their artwork.  The children demonstrated their teamwork skills to showcase their compassionate natures and their final pieces were amazing, including a fantastic poem written by two of our older children!

SWVG extended their gratitude towards the children: "A HUGE thank you for all the work you have put into this refugee week.  You have been BRILLIANT, the children have been so well prepared and engaged, it has been a fantastic experience for me and my team, thank you so much."
