Year 6 blog:

This half term, we have been enjoying our topic on Natural Disasters and Volcanoes. We have been learning about volcanoes around the world and about famous eruptions too.

We are now learning to think critically and evaluate different viewpoints, considering who is to blame when people are affected by a volcanic eruption, considering both economic and social factors.

In Science, we have been thinking about Evolution, Inheritance and Adaptation. We have learnt about how humans, animals and some plants have evolved over time. We looked at photographs of the teachers’ families and used their characteristics to guess which family belonged to which teacher and used all of these things to help us learn about natural selection too.
