Year 4 Maths

Children have been using a variety of concrete resources in lessons to explore the concept of addition and subtraction. They worked in small groups to represent addition and subtraction calculations through different pictorial representations such as the part, part whole and bar models. They were then able to discuss what they knew based on one calculation and the inverse operations associated with addition and subtraction.

Year 4 History

Year 4's History topic of the Bronze Age has continued and children have produced some wonderful non-chronological reports about what life was like then. Did you know that the first wheel was invented in the Bronze age and that it was initially used for a pottery wheel? Imagine what we would do these days without wheels that are now a crucial part of bikes, cars and even planes!
