Reading Ambassadors:
On Wednesday, Miss Leonard and Mrs Whettingsteel took some of the Reading Ambassadors to October Books in Portswood. The lovely staff there helped us to understand what it would be like to run a bookshop and explained the information we would need to know about books in order to make recommendations to our friends. We intend to transfer this learning to our role as Reading Ambassadors in the library, so that we can display our books in an appealing way and be able to make reading suggestions to our peers.
As part of the trip, we wrote poems to be displayed in the children's section of the bookshop and had a tour of their beautiful building, which used to be a bank!
Mrs Montague had kindly bought us a book voucher that we could buy some books with to bring back to our library. We bought two books based on things children in our school said they would like - "Stories for Kids Who Want to Save the World," by Carola Benedetto and "Marcus Rashford" from the "Little People, Big Dreams" collection.
