Year 4 blog
Did you know that Vikings didn't actually wear horned helmets?!
This week, year 4 enjoyed immersing themselves in our new topic during a history day. They enjoyed taking on the role of Anglo-Saxon spies whose mission was to gather intel about the Viking Longships that had mooreed up on the shoreline. Using their wits, the children managed to successfully recreate the different parts of a Longship before finding out their functions. During the mission, the children took in Sven (a Viking Longship builder) for questioning and managed to find out that Longships were up to18 metres long!
We can't wait to discover more about the brutal savages in the weeks to come!
