Year R
It has been a very hot week! The sun is shining and so are we!
In Year R, we have been keeping cool by exploring the water trays that are full of reptiles! This links to our science learning that is all about life cycles! We have looked at the life cycles of amphibians, birds, reptiles and insects! It has been EGG-cellent!
In Literacy, we have been retelling the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar! We have focussed on using ‘WOW’ words to make our writing even more exciting.
In Maths, we have been experts at counting in 2s! We enjoyed learning our song that we can sing anywhere, especially when we are in the Ice Cream Parlour role-play area. We also thought about odd and even numbers and spotting a number pattern.
2, 4, 6, 8,
I ate ice-cream off my plate
10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20
I’ve had plenty!
In our PSED lessons this week, we have focussed on the concept of sharing. We read ‘Rainbow Fish’ by Marcus Pfister. We thought about how we share with our friends and what we can do during ‘Busy Bee’ time to make our friends feel happy because we have been good at sharing. Today, we cut up tiny pieces of paper, muddled them up and created special, sparkly scales for our multi-coloured rainbow fish! It was lots of fun and we were all fantastic at sharing!
It has been a busy but fun filled week and we look forward to continuing our learning throughout the summer term!
