Year 5 blog:
This half term, Year 5 have been introduced to the 'Speak out, Stay safe' programme led by the NSPCC. The children took part in both an assembly and a workshop led by representatives from the NSPCC, where they developed an understanding of bullying and the different types of abuse in a child-friendly and age-appropriate way. During the workshop, the children were given scenarios in which they were asked to consider whether being put in particular situations would be okay or not. The children also identified safe adults that they can talk to if they are ever worried about themselves or a friend and how the NSPCC Childline can help them if necessary.
