Year R

This week we are learning about People Who Help Us.

In writing, we are focusing on the Police. We have discussed what they wear, what they do and how they help our community. We were super lucky, as we had a PSCO come to visit and bring a police van! We got to explore the van and see how it worked!

In maths this week, the royal monkey of more has made another appearance!   We are exploring addiction further through real life word problems.  We have been keen to learn different strategies, such as finding concrete materials, reading the problem again and  highlighting important numbers. We are going to visit the Year R shop this week for our big problem solve and during Busy bee maths we will add up our totals. What would you buy?

In foundations, we have taken a trip around the world in Geography exploring maps, globes and sat navs. We got to have a look at where Mrs. Wills grew up, where our friend Carrie moved to and where England is in the world. In Busy Bee, we have been applying our knowledge of making maps and putting together puzzles of the world.

We have been forward thinkers and started to explore our topics for next week in our Busy Bee time. We have a giant clock in the explorers tent, mini beasts in the garden and fire fighters dress-up for our people who help us! We looked at who could build the best fire truck in the construction area!

We have been brilliant learners this week. We cannot wait to meet some more 'People who help us' in our community.
