Year 5 and 6 blog:
What a fantastic week Year 5 and 6 have had! They’ve enjoyed welcoming some varied and interesting visitors. On Tuesday and Friday, Year 6 were visited by Bear Faced Theatre as part of their work on choices with Arts Work. The overarching aim of these workshops is to empower the pupils to make healthy choices with their friends as they grow older. These workshops also enable pupils to deepen their PSHE learning, whilst also gaining some important life skills to use in primary school and beyond.
In the workshop we learnt about making our own choices and that we shouldn’t be forced and pressured by others into making decisions. It’s important to share your feelings with others and not pretend to be someone you’re not.-Year 6 child.
On Thursday, PC Richards came to talk to both Year 5 and 6 about online safety. In this informative session, he covered the importance of keeping yourself safe online: different ways to keep personal information safe, keeping any online information private and when and who to report something concerning to.
Mr Richards spoke to us about online safety and how quickly people can find your private information online. We were looking at apps that younger children have but they shouldn’t – like Whatsapp and TikTok. Mr Richards also talked to us about making the right choices and online bullying. -Year 6 child.
